The year 2011 is already three-quarters over and many companies are already focusing on the budget for 2012. With the renewed pressure on financial markets and the subsequent uncertainty for the global economy, budgeting will be a difficult process. Should the belt be tightened or is the future promising? In whatever position you are in your company, you will be asked these kinds of questions. We see differences occur in the markets we operate in. As one sector is declining as a whole, in other sectors are differences noticeable from company to company. After the recession in 2009 many companies have benefited from the economic upturn in the years thereafter. For infostrait that meant much work to do, especially upgrading applications for its customers. The largest part of our capacity was dedicated to these projects in the first half of 2011. Now we look together with you to the uncertain future of 2012. A thing we like to do! We call it a strategy meeting. Together with a few people of your company, customer of infostrait or otherwise interested, we try to determine what will have to happen in the PLM area to make your business more efficient. In this newsletter you can read a summary of the assignments we have completed in recent months. It includes upgrades at Paques, AWL/MechDes and SAS Gouda. For NEM infostrait has finished a double Multi-Site installation. Knowledge of infostrait’s consultant in this specific area is so much recognized in the field that often an appeal from abroad is done. Amongst other Metka in Greece and the Swatch Group in Switzerland were advised by infostrait. Finally some brief reports on new customers, product development and the acquisition of the SmarTeam activities of Cadmes.Cadmes and infostrait reach agreement for SmarTeam
Infostrait will take over in close consultation with the customer and Cadmes the support of SmarTeam.The transfer has the kind consent of Dassault Systèmes, developer and manufacturer of SmarTeam.
AWL/MechDes successfully live on SmarTeam V5R20
After thorough preparation and successful collaboration between AWL /MechDes, infostrait and Dassault Systèmes, AWL /MechDes upgraded 2 months ago to a new software release. Besides the transition to SmarTeam V5R20, SolidWorks 2011 has been taken into production as well.

Rijkswaterstaat Dienst Noord-Brabant live with SmarTeam V5R20
Rijkswaterstaat Dienst Noord-Brabant has upgraded its SmarTeam V5R17 implementation to V5R20.
Due to the extensive experience of infostrait with upgrading of SmarTeam environments this project was executed without a hitch. The excellent cooperation between the employees of Rijkswaterstaat and infostrait has been a positive contribution to this success.
Rijkswaterstaat uses SmarTeam to manage AutoCAD drawings in a project-oriented database model. Furthermore, all contracts, e-mail and office documents are managed in a complex object- and geographical structure. The objectstructure relates to projects such as the broadening of highway A2 near Den Bosch.
Bakker Sliedrecht and Encon Infra rely on SmarTeam/FS
In the first quarter of 2011, infostrait added two new companies to the list of customers in the civil infrastructure sector, which rely on SmarTeam/FS.
Bakker Sliedrecht, a marine and electrical installation company, won the European tender for the maintenance and replacement of equipment at the Hollandse IJsselkering. SmarTeam / FS, the leading system for Systems Engineering at Rijkswaterstaat, the principal of Bakker Sliedrecht for this contract, is therefore elected by Bakker Sliedrecht as the application for information management of objects, requirements, validation and tests.
Encon Infra specializes itself in advise for railway construction contractors in the field of Systems Engineering and Contract Management at (large) tenders. SmarTeam/FS is used to build a standard library of objects, requirements, functions and validations, which can be deployed immediately at the site of the customers of Encon Infra.
SAS Gouda selects infostrait as their new VAR
SAS Gouda, specialized in design and manufacturing of reliable deck equipment for the offshore oil and gas market, has selected infostrait as their Dassault Systèmes Value Added Reseller (VAR) for the existing SmarTeam environment.First specialists of infostrait performed a Health Check on the configuration of SmarTeam and SolidWorks at SAS Gouda.
After the Heath Check, SAS Gouda and infostrait agreed upon a long term partnership. infostrait will be responsible for 1) acquisition of the existing environment, 2) upgrade to the latest version of the software, 3) adding new functionality and 4) where possible a more efficient use of the software by adjusting and harmonizing procedures and processes.
