Rijkswaterstaat, Noord-Brabant switches to infostrait for SmarTeam services and support

The Dutch Ministry for Civil Infrastructure ('Rijkswaterstaat') delegates the implementation of their national policies to ten regional organizations. Within its territory, each individual organization is responsible for the specification, implementation and maintenance of both the road- and waterways.

The region Noord-Brabant leverages SmarTeam since 1997. At that time, infostrait staff supported the installation of SmarTeam V3.1. Since, the SmarTeam configuration evolved to manage virtually all project related information, using an Object Tree as primary structure. Advisor Michel van de Pol of Rijkswaterstaat: "At the time of its introduction, adopting an Object Tree was rather radical, even visionary. However, this approach is now generally accepted for the management of all approved documentation."

Starting Q1 2009, all internal SmarTeam data structures were revisited, and the database verified for consistency. Using infostrait proprietary macros, the database quality was significantly improved. At the same time, both an upgrade to SmarTeam V5R17 and a complete virtualization of the server infrastructure were supported.

With a Project Tree and a Document Tree, in addition to the Object Tree, as well as advanced functionality for the management of AutoCAD documents, the SmarTeam configuration at Rijkswaterstaat Noord-Brabant is now fully enabled to support large and complex projects, such as the widening and renovation of the national A2 highway.

Working with the highly qualified and motivated Rijkswaterstaat advisors, infostrait has fully justified its position as Noord-Brabant's ENOVIA SmarTeam Solution Partner of choice.
