ALFAmail is an extremely user-friendly Internet-based (workflow) solution based on which information is transparent, Structured and sequentially exchanged. ALFAmail requires cooperating parties transfer information unambiguously. Using an email-like interface cooperating parties exchange information using standard forms and documents.
No maintenance, always use the latest software
infostrait supplies ALFAmail as ‘Software as a Service’. This means that the application is installed on our servers, and communication with your organization and contacts occurs via a secure connection. You do not need to invest in software or hardware. You do not have to qorry about maintnance and systems management. Moreover, you always have the latest version of ALFAmail at your disposal. Our systems are housed in the data center of NXS and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

03.Why not communicate via email, phone, fax, postal mail?
You will keep communicating via email, phone, fax and postal mail, but i order to formally record information and deadlines, you will be using ALFAmail.
For example: you have a telephone conversation about the consequences of a deviation from a contract. Orally you agree with the remark that the project should not be delayed. Following is a written commitment by the ALFAmail procedure “exception reporting”.The deviation, the consequences of the deviation, your approval and your constraints are thus transparent, clearly defined and traceable.
04.What do I need to to use ALFAmail?
You need a computer with Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 6.0 or higher) and an Internet connection. No installation of software on the user’s computer is required in order to use ALFAmail.
05. How much trouble will my colleagues go through to understand ALFAmail?
Because ALFAmail largely resembles how webbased e-mail solutions like hotmail, gmail or yahoo work, ALFAmail is extremely user friendly.

07.Is there a link between ALFAmail and Microsoft Outlook?
Yes, ALFAmail has got a link to Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, GroupWise, etc. When a new ALFAmail message is received for a user, he/she will receive a notification by e-mail.
For Microsoft Outlook, a free ALFAmail plug-in is available. The installation instructions are as follows:
1) Download and install the ALFAmail Windows Client
2) Download and install Outlook 2003 Plug-in or 2007 Plug-in.
Note: The prerequisites are:
- Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007;
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0;
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office SE Runtime (
08. Is there an integration between ALFAmail and my software possible?
| Yes, there are integrations (Microsoft SharePoint, GwwBesteksAdministratie, B & S Civil), and new integrations are fairly easy to achieve thanks to the ALFAmail API. ALFAmail is built on an API (Application Programming Interface). This allows us to completely integrate ALFAmail into your office application. 09. Does ALFAmail also work on a mobile phone?
You can read your messages on a mobile phone.Navigate using your phone’s web browser to https://www.alfamail.nl/mobile .
If you are in possession of an Android phone or iPhone, you can use https://www.alfamail.nl/gadgets/inbox-gadget .
10. What is the URL of the SOAP server for ALFAmail?
ALFAmail uses a secure connection to send and receive SOAP messages.

11. Is my data secure?
To ensure that only authorized project participants have access to information and documents we apply a strict security policy that covers all possible aspects of access, communication and backup.
• Access control for each transaction;
• Encrypted communication (SSL).
We make every possible effort to continually evaluate safety risks and to further develop infrastructure and safety measures of the system.
12. What security measures does infostrait take?
infostrait applies state-of-the-art security measures to ensure that your data is not exposed to unauthorised people / systems. We realize how critical security is to you and therefore security is our highest priority. We always apply the latest technologies and recommendations.
Authentication and encryption
ALFAmail access is possible only with a valid user name and password.
In addition, all data communication is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
• Encrypted communication. We use the latest encryption technology, including 128-bit SSL encryption and 1024-bit public keys (RSA). All data communication to and from the user’s computer is encrypted using SSL, the most widely used Internet standard for encrypted communications.
• Password protection. The registration and application procedure are encrypted, and passwords are thus never sent as clear text. Users’ passwords are stored in a one-way encrypted format (using a standardized one-way encryption).
• Automatic logout. To prevent unauthorized access if users leave their computer unattended, you are automatically logged out after a period of inactivity.
