SmarTeam / FS
SmarTeam / FS is a complete solution for integrated design using the Systems Engineering (SE) methodology. New contract forms like ‘Design & Construct’ (and often ‘Maintain’) require an ever-increasing digitization. It must be shown that the Programme of Requirements (PoR) are met. SmarTeam / FS focuses on contractor as well as subcontractor and but not only in initiative phase. The out-of-the-box FS template grows with the customer. Thus the management of documents and technical information in the following phases of a project are covered. SmarTeam / FS is a powerful, best practice SE database engine, secure file store for document management, and advanced integration with Microsoft Office for an intuitive document-oriented interface.
Total solution for intregral designs according to the Systems Engineering methodology
From SmarTeam / FS and Microsoft Office, Requirements, Functions and Objects can be textually input and changed. Every Requirement, Function and Object gets a unique identification number, and it is automatically archived who created the requirement, function or object.
The way a requirement is created, makes an important contribution to the quality of the finished product. The following characteristics are applicable to a requirement: specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound (SMART).
The hierarchical relationships between Requirements, Functions and Objects are created automatically, and can easily be extended to multiple hierarchical relationships (N: M) by using ‘drag & drop’ feature, or by using ‘copy & paste ‘. The ‘drag & drop’ and ‘copy & paste’ functionality also applies to making relationships between Requirements, Functions and Objects. Through a separate tab ‘Relationships’ it is possible to trace relationships, and it’s also possible to visualize relationships in combined tree structures.
Monitoring the Program of Requirements during the design and implementation: Verification
SmarTeam / FS provides extensive support in the verification process. A verification describes how and when an object designed or implemented will be assessed against a related requirement. Because all Requirements of an object often need to be verified at different moments in time, the number of verifications for a combination of a requirement and an Object is unlimited. There are standard verification reports available within SmarTeam/FS. It is also possible to define additional custom reports.
