BIM & COINS

COINS is an open standard for capturing Construction Information Models (BIM). This standard is used by partners in construction projects to capture information uniformly.

The COINS standard offers two resources that are important for improving information flow in a construction process and exchange BIM information. These are:

  1. exchange formats (COINS-container);
  2. methodologies (COINS principles for information management).

If some parties will cooperate in the establishment of a construction. corresponding the structuring of information is efficient and effective and to use a open and standard exchange format.

COINS Export

infostrait implemented the COINS standard, and to be precise, the export of COINS container will be supported by the methodology Functional Specification. From SmarTeam/FS is a whole project in accordance with the standard exchange formats saved as COINS container.

The COINS Standard was developed by the construction sector for the construction sector. Participants in the construction sector are represented in the COINS project. Since 2006 infostrait represented in the Technical Committee. The COINS- organization is facilitated by CUR Building & Infrastructure from Gouda.
